Personal players to Run Trains, Railways Working on’Revolutionary’ Idea: Reports
New Delhi: In what is surely a revolutionary concept, the Indian Railways is operating on a proposal to encourage personal players to run its trains. According to reports, the idea has attracted the eye of private carriers such as Indigo and SpiceJet and travel portal site Make My Trip.
Apart from the two giant players in the field of catering, too, have expressed interest in the stated model.
Based on reports, both Indigo and SpiceJet have both queried officials regarding the possible temperament of the railways in which the personal players are encouraged and beneath which coverage framework the player will carry out the train operations.
Enthused with the answer, the Railway Ministry is going forward with the idea aggressively.
In the coming days, it’s expected to finalise the terms and requirements for private players to run trains in India and private gamers will be encouraged to take part, through a bidding process to run the trains. The interested parties have also been advised that article policy finalisation, a meeting will be held where they’ll be told about minute details of their policy. The ministry is believed to be working hard so as to entice the biggest and best players from the marketplace, as they think that the larger the player, the greater will be comforts for the passengers.
Even the Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express, which was flagged off lately and is the nation’s first private semi high-speed rail, also, will be floated through the bidding procedure.
The ministry has indicated that in the coming 4-5 years, there’ll be 150 private trains in the nation. These can run on not just paths like Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Chennai, Delhi-Howrah however on nine long distance paths.
